Test Availability

What test do you offer?

We offer different kinds of tests grouped under sexual health, respiratory health, and general health (please see services page).

Sample Collection

What is the preferred method for collecting samples for [specific test]?

Depending on the type of test, a swab (i.e., nasopharyngeal for respiratory test or cervical swab for HPV test) is required.

Do you provide transportation services for the samples?

Yes. We provide free a 1-time daily pick up (volume dependent) within the Richmond and Vancouver area.

Do you offer sample collection services at clinics/hospitals, or should patients visit your lab directly?

We don’t provide collection services at our lab. Sample collections are performed at our partner physician’s clinics or pharmacy.

Turnaround Time and Reporting

What is your standard turnaround time for routine tests?

Depending on the type of test, our turnaround time ranges from 24 to 48 hours.

How are test results provided (e.g., online portal, fax, email)?

You can access your results with a secured link that we provide you. If authorized by the clinic, we can email it directly to the patient with a unique passcode.  

Do you offer STAT or same-day testing options for urgent cases?

Yes. STAT services are only offered for respiratory testing (within 4 hours from pickup or drop off to the lab).

Quality Assurance

What quality control measures do you have in place to ensure accurate results?

Danner lab has over 30 years of industry experience. Using advanced technologies, our proficient and certified lab technicians (see our team profile) ensure accuracy in every test.


Do you participate in proficiency testing programs to validate your testing accuracy? 

Yes. We regularly participate in the proficiency testing under the BC CMPT and US CAP.

Billing

Are your services covered by BC MSP?

No. All of what we currently provide are private pay services.

Is there a contact number for consultations or result inquiries?


Patients should consult with their physician. In case of emergency clinics can call:
General inquiries (604) 436-4388 Monday to Friday , from 10 am to 6 pm.
Result Inquiries (604) 329-2338 Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 11 pm.

Compliance and Accreditation

Are you accredited by relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., DAP)?

Yes. In British Columbia, Canada, we are a DAP ISO 15189-certified microbiology laboratory.

What steps do you take to ensure patient privacy and data security?

Patient data protection and security are among Danner’s priorities (refer to our privacy policy). We have strict internal policies in place to ensure adherence to PEPIDA guidelines.

Sample Collection and Handling

Where can I go for sample collection, and do I need an appointment for this?

Go to your physician’s clinic or our partner pharmacies for sample collection.

Who will bring my samples to the lab?

Your physician or the pharmacy will arrange the handling of samples to our lab.

Cost and Insurance

Are your services covered the BC MSP?

No. All of what we currently provide are private pay services.

Who has access to my test results?

Only the patient and their physician have access to the results.

Call your physician for emergencies.
